St. Nicholas’s Church It is thought that there has been some sort of place of worship on this site for the best part of a thousand years. The magnificent church that stands now in the heart of Tooting was built by public subscription in 1833. The focus of the church community has always been on the people rather than the building, but it is definitely a superb example of nineteenth century architecture. The congregation is large and lively and is always keen to welcome new people as visitors or residents.
