Stories, words, books, poems, shouts, whispers - Tooting Tales will rejoice in them all. In collaboration with the Construction Gallery, we present a veritable cavalcade of all that we love about literature including a library installation, amazing story telling, author readings, interactive word play, human scrabble & a literary tour of Tooting!
DAYTIME: Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th, 1-5pm, Free.
NIGHTIME: Saturday 25th, 9pm-2am, £5 or £3 in advance.
Acts include but will not be limited too...aerial performance, a silent disco, the inimitable Alphabet Soup, a literary caberet, amazing storytelling from Eli Anderson, stalls, Tooting Book Club's BOOK OFF, spoken word from Michael Mckimm, Luigi Coppola and Amy Key, interactive poetry workshops, readings by Honest Publishing author Bogdan Tiganov, Peter Hayoe's Poetry Pallet, Blackshaw players performing excerpts from Peake's Titus Groan, stories in English, Somali, Tigrigna and Amharic from Cote d'Ivoire, Somalia and Eritrea, favourite word collecting, velcro poetry, a library installation, the 1-1 story tent, a zine fair, a Literary Tour of Tooting, human scrabble, and a 12 hour mega poem!
Dressing up is not compulsory but is certainly encouraged and if you come as your favourite character in literature you'll get serious extra kudos...
