Money advice event this Wednesday

Residents will be able to get a money MOT at the council’s Community Advice Day this Wednesday (July 28).

The event helps local people find out about benefits and other financial help available to them.

The council has teamed up with local and national organisations to provide workshops across a range of financial issues including benefits health checks and money management advice. Other topics include housing issues, energy efficiency and home safety.

There will be talks during the day by the council's benefits and pension services and by the Consumer Financial Education Body.

There will also be free giveaways, a children's play area and the chance to win a 19-inch LCD digital TV. Light refreshments will be provided.

Cllr Maurice Heaster, deputy leader of Wandsworth Council said:

"This event makes it easy for local people to get information on a range of services all under one roof. Residents can ensure they are claiming their full benefit entitlement and receive valuable advice on how to manage their money more effectively.”
